1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, use features, or contact us for support. This includes:

• Account information (name, email address, password)
• Profile details (years hunting, bio, avatar)
• Location data you save (stand markers, hunt areas, trail recordings) — stored in your account only
• Hunt log entries and harvest records you create
• Messages sent to Buddy AI and inputs submitted to Scout Buddy, which are processed by our AI provider to generate responses
• Device information and app usage analytics (crash reports, feature usage)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and improve the Hunt'n Buddy app and services
• Sync your saved locations, shapes, and settings across devices
• Process payments and manage subscriptions through payment and subscription service providers
• Send push notifications (solunar alerts, weather warnings) — only if enabled by you
• Respond to support requests and diagnose technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your hunt logs, locations, or AI conversations for advertising purposes.

3. Location Data

Hunt'n Buddy requests location access to show your position on the map and provide local solunar, weather, and property information. Saved markers, boundaries, hunt locations, and recorded trails may be stored on your device and synced to our servers under your account. Background location is used for trail recording when you enable it, including while the screen is locked. Coordinates or requested map areas are sent to weather, mapping, terrain, and parcel providers as needed to deliver the features you use. You can stop recording at any time.

You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. The app will continue to function without it, but map centering and location-aware features will be limited.

4. Property & Parcel Lookup

When you use property lookup, the requested latitude and longitude are sent to our property data provider to retrieve public record information. Lookup usage is recorded to enforce account limits, and results may be cached to reduce repeated requests.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Web payment providers — process web subscription payments. We do not store full payment card details.
• Mobile app stores and subscription service providers — process and manage mobile subscriptions. Purchase identifiers, subscription status, and an app user identifier are used to provide and restore Pro access.
• AI service providers — process conversation messages and feature inputs to generate responses for Buddy AI and Scout Buddy. Do not include sensitive personal information in AI conversations.
• Crash and error reporting providers — process diagnostic information to help identify and resolve technical issues
• Mapping and terrain providers — receive requested map areas or coordinates to provide maps, overlays, and terrain data
• Weather data providers — receive coordinates for local weather forecasts
• Property data providers — receive coordinates for property queries
• Hosting and storage providers — operate the service and store account data and uploaded photos

6. Data Retention

We retain account data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app or contact support for a verified deletion request, which we process within 30 days. Limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, or accounting purposes; payment providers retain records under their own policies. Deleting your account does not cancel a mobile app store or web subscription.

7. Children's Privacy

Hunt'n Buddy is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
